4-Chloro-alpha-pyrrolidinovalerophenone (also known as 4-chloro-alpha-pyrrolidinopentiophenone, 4Cl-PVP, or 4C-PVP) is an emerging recreational designer drug of the pyrrolidinophenone class, similar in structure to alpha-pyrrolidinopentiophenone (α-PVP). The pharmacology and toxicity of this compound is unknown.
Effects of 4-CL-PVP (Crystals)The effects of the drug are physical, subjective and cognitive in nature. The drug being stimulant in nature causes excessive forced or involuntary energetic behavior in users. The physical effects of the drug include jaw clenching, vibrations, body shaking and unsteadiness of hand due to loss of motor control.
The drug can cause involuntary movement in eyeballs and vision impairment. The drug is known to cause strong urge of drinking water which in severe cases can lead to water intoxication. The effects produce difficulty in urinating.
Tactile enhancement is caused by the drug while increased heart rate is among the side effects. Due to the cause of stimulation to excessive physical activity, increased perspiration, increased heart rate, and increased blood pressure is caused by the drug.
The impurities in the drug can also cause toxicity.
Dosage and Over-Dose of 4-CL-PVP (Crystals)
The dosage of the drug ranges from 5mg to 50mg. Light doses of the drug range from 5mg - 15mg while the commonly administered dose ranges from 30-40mg. A heavy dose of the drug is greater than or equal to 50mg.
The greater dose can cause the full range of effects but comes with adverse side effects as well which include serious injury or death in severe conditions.
